In Shiatsu a good deal of pressure is often required, cotton cloths allow greater precision and accuracy on small areas. Using oil, as some massage therapies do, prevents the Shiatsu therapist from making precise movements as there is too much “slip”. Having a Shiatsu massage fully clothed keeps the client’s body warm and comfortable.

Increased water consumption benefits all the organs and systems and promotes a good basis for overall health.

Is Shiatsu just a physical treatment or is energetic healing involved?
